Tour Itinerary

Day 1 –Kwazulu-Natal – (B, L, D)

We leave early from Gauteng and head southeast towards Kwazulu-Natal. Arriving mid-afternoon, we’ll have enough time to visit the beach and experience some waves, sand and sun. We will be here for the next 5 nights.

Day 2 & 3 – Marine Conservation and Species identification – (B, L, D)

Nothing makes you feel more alive than getting closer to Nature and we see how we can contribute to help conserve and manage marine life. We gain some knowledge on the basics of marine ecology, animal behaviour, how we could be part of marine conservation and animal protection. We will be snorkeling along one of the reefs for fish identification and taking a boat ride to see how sharks are managed along East Coast of South Africa. Our host will point out various methods used and we’ll hopefully enjoy some shark spotting during our time on the boat. We spend the afternoon along one of the South Coast beaches enjoying the sun and waves. (Special permission from Parents or legal guardian required for some of the activities)

Day 4 & 5 – Kwazulu-Natal Coastline and Durban – (B, L, D)

These 2 days are all about awareness. We start our day with a discussion on how we can make a difference even if we’re not in the sea. We also visit the Natal Sharks Board to gain further insight knowledge on how these magnificent species are managed along the coastlines.

Day 6 – Ushaka Marine World and beach – (B, L, D)

We get the opportunity to visit the world renowned Ushaka Marine World to build our knowledge about sea birds, various fish species and marine animals. Ushaka also has a water theme park where we can enjoy some splashing fun and enjoy the beach one last time.

Day 7 – Homebound and waterfall- (B, L)

We head inland to go back home after the Kwazulu-Natal Marine Educational Tour. Along the way, we will stop at a waterfall and enjoy the views of this magnificent site. We should arrive back in Gauteng late afternoon.
