Day 1 – Mpumalanga Lowveld & Balule – (B, L, D)

We leave early from Pretoria to start the Kruger Adventures Educational tour and head east towards the Lowveld.  From Hoedspruit we drive to our Camp in the Balule Conservancy which forms part of the Greater Kruger National Park. Arriving mid afternoon we are in time to experience our first sunset in the African Bush. Balule is home to a variety of wildlife and bird species that includes the Big 5 – lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo and elephant. We will be here for the next 3 nights.

Day 2 & 3 – Balule – (B, L, D)

Nothing makes you feel more alive than getting closer to Nature and we see how we can contribute to help conserve and manage nature. At Balule we will learn and gain some knowledge on the basics of Ecology, Animal behaviour, how we could be part of Nature Conservation and Animal Protection. While we are here we get the opportunity to go on bush walks and game drives to build our knowledge about birds, animals, trees and other plants.

Day 4 – Panorama route – (B, L, D)

Our adventure leads us to the famous Panorama route where views of the Lowveld and surrounding mountains are breathtaking. Places that we visit are God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, Blyde River Canyon, and should time permit we visit a waterfall. At these attractions we will learn more about geology and why we encounter different types of rock formations in various areas. How water, sun and wind is still forming our surroundings and why we need to conserve water. Our accommodation is just outside Kruger National Park, we’ll be here for 2 nights.

Day 5 – Kruger National Park – (B, L, D)

Today we will be game driving in the Kruger National Park. An early start makes the possibility of seeing wildlife a bit better as animals prefer to move around during the cooler times of the day. We visit various waterholes, drive along rivers and experience the lush African bush as we drive around in the southern parts of the world renowned Kruger National Park. After a full day in Kruger National Park we return to our accommodation later afternoon.

Day 6 – Sabie river rafting and homebound – (B, L)

An adventurous day ahead of us as we head for the Sabie river to enjoy our last activity for the Kruger Adventures Educational tour. Arriving mid-morning we receive our life jackets and safety helmets before heading down to the river. Our professional river guides will teach us the basics of river rafting and safety. No prior experience is needed for the river rafting as we are only going through class 2 – 3 rapids. (Special permission from Parents or legal guardian required). From the Sabie river we turn back towards Pretoria and sadly we have to say good-bye.
